Shwanting with DJ Morsanek
Got chatting to this fella recently and downloaded some immersive multi-layered mixes from his site. 'Arrangements' is probably my favourite, but they're all definitely worth a listen if you like the Shwantology mixes or Tim Rambler/Soundslike's Blogariddms episodes. Bit of a parallel with our shows in the National Gallery, as these were done as incidental music for this event. This sounds very familiar for example!
...those mixes are really more about setting up a conducive pre-show social environment for these AUXXX nights we do in Amsterdam....that you can either listen to or ignoreIt's great to see other DJs using different techniques instead of just playing one tune after another, as Morsanek says:
...I'm putting the basic pieces together with ACID and then running it through a Roland 404 sampler live for effects and also dropping samples....all recorded from the soundboard...So what are you waiting for? - Go get them!
